BASIC ROUTER CONFIGURATION



BASIC ROUTER  CONFIGURATION

Take 2 routers in the same model number 

Router 0

Double click router 0
Switch off the router

Drag and Place the serial port from the WIC-IT port
Switch on the router

Router 1
Double click router 1
Switch off the router
Drag and Place the serial port from the WIC-IT port
Switch on the router
connect the serial cable for the routers 
Double click the router 0
Open the CLI tab
Follow the commands for the  router 0

Double click the router 1
Open the CLI tab
Follow the commands for the  router 1
Two ports can be enable as indicate by GREEN light
Network id – 192.168.1.0
Serial 1 ip 192.168.1.1
Serial 2 ip 192.168.1.2
Check for send and receive messages as shown in the figure


The total configuration details for the routers
If both the routers can able to send and receive messages it is SUCCESSFUL
If both the routers cannot able to send and receive messages it is IN PROGRESS
